He qualified as a Golf Teaching Professional
in September 2003 with the European Golf Teachers Federation.
He has played Professional Golf on Tour in 2007 and 2008 competing on the Celtic Pro Tour and
The Emerald Pro Tour. His first professional tour event was on the Celtic Pro Tour in June 2007 at Seafield Golf and
Country Club Wexford. Playing with Patrick Geraghty (Seafield) and Tim Murphy (West Waterford) Mervyn shot an opening
round of 76 to tie 5th position after the first round. In 2007 he finished 5th
on the order of Merit Summer Series of The Emerald Pro Tour in Ireland.
He has experience of teaching using the Explanar Golf Training System and the V1 Video
Analysis for Golf Coaching Software.
He has trained and worked with some of the top
Golf instructors in the UK and Ireland.
